Microneedling with hyaluronic acid vs skin boosters vs polynucleotides: what's the difference?

Microneedling on its own supports collagen induction and skin structure, as we covered in what microneedling actually does. Most treatment plans pair it with an infusion delivered into the skin during the same session, and at Level 7 there are three options. They're often compared on price alone, but the more useful question is what each one is actually designed to do.

Microneedling with hyaluronic acid infusion, £165

This is the foundational option, and a hydration-focused one. Hyaluronic acid supports the skin's barrier function, improves hydration levels, and enhances overall skin quality and radiance. It's a good starting point if your main concern is dullness, dehydration, or general skin quality, rather than a specific structural change.

Microneedling with skin booster, £195

This builds on the foundational treatment with targeted skin boosters added in, aimed at enhancing hydration, elasticity, and dermal support beyond what hyaluronic acid alone achieves. It suits skin that needs more than surface hydration, where elasticity and firmness are part of the concern.

Microneedling with polynucleotides, £250

This is the most regenerative of the three. Polynucleotides are designed to support cellular repair, improve skin resilience, and stimulate longer-term tissue regeneration. It tends to suit skin that's more compromised, whether through ageing, sun damage, or scarring, where the goal is genuine tissue repair rather than a hydration or elasticity boost.

How to choose between them

Skin type, condition, and goals all play into which option is right, which is exactly why this decision sits inside a consultation rather than something to work out from a price list alone. Many clients start with the hyaluronic acid option and move toward skin boosters or polynucleotides later in their treatment plan, as their skin's needs change. Others begin with polynucleotides from the outset if there's a specific concern that calls for it.

Whichever option is right for you, results build cumulatively rather than after a single session, which is why we generally recommend a course of treatment rather than a one-off appointment.

Schedule a Free Consultation

Every treatment plan at Level 7 begins with a conversation.

Your complimentary 20 minute consultation gives us time to understand your skin in detail, its history, its current condition, and your goals. From there, we build a personalised treatment plan and protocol, structured around your skin and how it responds over time.

This is not a sales appointment. It is the clinical foundation for everything that follows.
